I bought 2, so an 80 savings at Christmas paid for three games. The new DLC wave also adds in eight new tracks across two new cups, so there's plenty more to dive back into. I saved 40 when purchased at Walmart instead of Target or Sears. Obviously, the more exciting of the two recent Mario Kart updates is the one for 8 Deluxe, which now lets you have only blue shells on if you like to live a masochistic life. Whatever this update does, at least you know your general gameplay experience in Mario Kart 7 has been improved, if you're still playing it. It’s a bit expensive, though, so it’s hard to recommend, especially since Ultimate is much better. Smash 3DS is pretty good, and it has Smash Run. Given the fact that Mario Kart 7 is over a decade old, and its last patch was in 2012, this new 1.2 update has those who still use play 3DS systems a little confused-especially given the vague patch notes. Prior to this update, the last and only other update the game received was way back in May 2012, which just got rid of a shortcut exploit in three of the game's tracks. It’s not a bad game at all, but it doesn’t really do anything that any other Mario Kart hasn’t done. Instead, Nintendo has just put out a brand new patch for Mario Kart 7, on the Nintendo 3DS. As pointed out by general Nintendo source-code tinkerer OatmealDome (thanks, Eurogamer), there's a chance the update has fixed a security exploit, which might be the same one that was also applied to games like ARMS, Super Mario Maker 2, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Mario Kart 7 features four single-player game modes: Grand Prix, Time Trial, Balloon Battle, and Coin Runners. "Several issues have been addressed to improve the gameplay experience," is the only change mentioned in the patch notes. The update arrived yesterday, December 13, and is pretty vague in what changes have actually been made. By clicking 'enter', you agree to GameSpot's
